WinWebBot
WinWebBot is a web-crawler/spider developed by Balaena Ltd to support the development of a search engine using the company's Aurora-Trinity data protocols.

The current agent may perform in distinct roles, but if you are viewing this as a result of an entry in the User Agent field of an HttpRequest, viz:

User Agent: "WinWebBot/1.0; (Balaena Ltd, UK; http://www.balaena.com/winwebbot.html; winwebbot@balaena.com;)";

then it is most likely being used currently to scan robots.txt and associated web-pages.

The initial version of the program scanned IP addresses at root (/), without first scanning for robots.txt,
and without specifying a 'user agent' field.

Now that we appreciate more fully the relevance and use of the robots.txt
/ user-agent fields, we apologise for any unwarranted intrusion based on the naive model.

Pages discovered without reference to the robots.txt file will be reviewed based on a later disovery of robots.txt, and suppressed if the robots.txt file discloses a 'disallow: /' record for * (all agents).
